Born August 19, 1962 in Bellevue,
OH. Grew up in the cornfields of Northern Ohio with my younger
brother Ray. I attended Lyme Elementary and Bellevue High School (Class
of 1980). I always loved motorcycles and at one time I had 3 bikes,
all Hondas (a CB-350, CR-250 and an XR-100). I had a lot of fun working
in the summer of 1979 at Siegel's Honda in Monroe, MI. I waited for
a couple years after high school before I decided to attend the National
Institute of Technology in Toledo. While I was going to school, I
was also working summers at Cedar Point, a cool amusement park in Sandusky,
OH, on the shores of Lake Erie. I have a lot of fond memories of
good friends and good times from that place. We worked hard and partied
hard!!
After graduating from NIT,
I was having a hard time finding a job in Ohio. However, IBM recruiters
came to Toledo in 1984 and I interviewed and got offered a job!
Only trouble was that it was in New York. It was a hard decision,
but I decided to take the job and moved to Poughkeepsie, NY in July 1984.
I looked forward to a long and prosperous career with IBM.
In 1988 I met and married
my lovely wife Janet and our daughter Lisa came along in 1990, with son
Eric joining us in 1995. Jan was a 'Beemer' too and we went through
some tough times when she was 'downsized' from IBM in 1993 and I could
not work due to disability and had to leave IBM. Eventually I recovered
and worked for a time with MetLife, but had a tough time supporting my
family. Things turned around for us when I got a job as a contractor
with CTG. I've been working the past 2 years with CTG as a HelpDesk
Technical Consultant contracted by IBM for their internal HelpDesk.
We currently live in Kingston,
NY, although it is my wish to someday go back home, if not to Bellevue,
OH, at least somewhere in the Mid-West. I miss the friendly people
there.
